God is the Master of the church and Jesus Christ is the Shepherd of Crossroads.  His under shepherds (our Elders) must be surrendered to the Master, listen for His direction and then implement these directives with all of their strength and energy.  The primary means of hearing God is: engaging in the wholehearted pursuit of God and then simply making time to listen (in prayer) for any specific direction God might want to give.

The under shepherds play a key role, not only hearing God’s voice, but also HOLDING the church and its leadership on course as it seeks to accomplish God's specific will.

The Elders at Crossroads are men whose character meets the New Testament’s guidelines.  It is impossible to motivate people to become something they do not see clearly manifested in their lives.  The Bible is clear; a significant portion of what Elders are intended to do is shepherd, guide, disciple and teach.  But these actions must be a byproduct of a life that is aggressively pursuing God.  They must lead by example.
